COLORADO SPRINGS, June 9, 2025 – HBA Cares of the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs has been recognized for the Woody & Millie Ingram Guest House with an Award of Excellence from the Executive Officers Council (EOC) of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
“We are honored that the Colorado Springs Home Builders Association has received the Association Excellence Award from the National Association of Home Builders for the Woody and Millie Ingram Guest House project,” said Josh Peterson, COO for Vanguard Homes and Past HBA Cares President. “This recognition reflects the incredible generosity and dedication of our members, whose time and energy made the project possible.”
The Woody & Millie Ingram Guest House opened its doors to guests on May 29, 2024. Since then, it has served over 1,025 patients and their families receiving medical care at the St. Francis Medical Center. Designed to serve as a home away from home, the Guest House is committed to providing free lodging so that patients and their families can focus on healing. To date, they have provided 2800 nights of free lodging to guests from over 20 states, aged 24 weeks to 95 years old.
The Association Excellence Awards is an annual program designed to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of state and local home builders’ associations and executive officers in the field of association management. EOC membership is comprised of the staff executives who direct more than 650 NAHB-affiliated state and local home builders’ associations representing more than 140,000 home builders in communities across the United States.
“I’m continually impressed by the creativity, impact, and member focus shown by this year’s AEA winners,” said Mike Erdmann, EOC President and CEO of the Home Builders Association of Marion & Polk Counties in Oregon. “These awards highlight what’s possible when local and state associations stay grounded in their mission, respond to real-world challenges, and keep delivering value where it counts. Congratulations to each of these award-winning associations—you’re helping raise the bar for all of us.”
The winning entries will be added to the NAHB website, so that other executives and associations across the country can access and learn from them to provide better service to their own members and community.
