BE A VOICE FOR THE INDUSTRY
The City of Colorado Springs, the Town of Monument, the City of Fountain and El Paso County regularly have openings for volunteer positions on their boards and committees.
Please consider volunteering for one of the City of Colorado Springs and El Paso County Boards. Not only will you learn about the critical work that these boards do, you will also have an opportunity to give input on topics that may impact the construction industry and the community.
CITY OF COLORADO SPRINGS

Fire Board of Appeals
Fire Suppression Contractor, Fire Insurance Field, Building Contactor (A, B, or C), Small Business (less than 50 employees), Large Business (more than 50 employees)
The Fire Board of Appeals is established to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the fire code official or his/her designee relative to the application and interpretation of the currently adopted International Fire Code.
Meetings are held the 2nd Friday of every month, 8.30 a.m., Due to the COVID-19 virus, meetings of Fire Board of Appeals shall occur via a web conference. All agendas include meeting access information.

El Paso County Commissioners’ Office

El Paso County, CO, March 25, 2021 – The Board of El Paso County Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve on the El Paso County Planning Commission. Applications are due by April 16, 2021.
The Planning Commission is currently seeking one Regular member and one Associate member.
The Planning Commission reviews planning petitions, makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on land use requests, and prepares a Master Plan for the county’s unincorporated areas. The commission consists of nine members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three-year terms. Associate members may also be appointed for one-year terms. Terms are limited to two full consecutive terms, except for associate members who may be reappointed for an indefinite number of terms.
Commission meetings are held on the first and third Thursdays of the month at 1 pm at the Centennial Hall Hearing Room, 200 S Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
El Paso Colorado Springs, CO, March 25, 2021 – The Board of El Paso County Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve on the Board of Adjustment.
The Board of Adjustment is currently seeking two Associate members.
The Board of Adjustment hears and decides on issues of physical variances related to the county zoning code. Variance requests may include changes to dimensions, structural location, bulk limitations, or other development requirements.
The board consists of 4 regular members and several associate members who vote on a rotating basis. Regular members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three-year terms and are limited to two full consecutive terms; associate members are appointed for one-year terms and may be reappointed for up to a maximum of 6 consecutive terms.
Board meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 9:00 am at the Centennial Hall Hearing Room, 200 S. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
