Parade of Homes
August 1 - 17, 2014
The Parade of Homes offers the general public a first-hand look at the current trends and greatest innovations in new home design. This event showcases the latest design trends in affordable living to luxury dream homes complete with every amenity imaginable.
Each home is professionally judged for a multitude of features including landscaping, floor plan, architectural exterior, interior decorating etc. and every year the HBA includes the People’s Choice Award. The People’s Choice Award is voted on by those who attend the Parade and is the most coveted award by the builders. The People’s Choice awards, as well as other awards, are broken out into categories divided by price points.
Criteria to enter:
- The home may not have been lived in before the start of the Parade. (and cannot be lived in during the Parade )
- Home must be complete and Certificate of Occupancy (“CO”) received by July 31, 2014
- Frame inspection completed by June 1, 2014
- Model homes may not have been open to the public more than 90 days prior to the opening of the Parade (May 1, 2014). Models that have not seen significant traffic from January 1, 2014 to May 1, 2014 and/or is in a remote area and has not been heavily marketed in the local market can apply to be in the Parade as well.
Last year, there were 35 homes and 4 communities in the Parade. Home prices varied from the mid $200,000 to more than $1,400,000.

Media Plan for 2014
TV Buys on NBC/KOAA 5/30, CBS/KKTV 11, ABC/KRDO 13.
Our TV buys include commercial advertising, web banner ads on the station site, Facebook contest and posts, on air give a ways and PR Opportunities.
Our Radio Partnership is with Cumulus Media, their stations include KVOR 740 News Talk, KKPK The Peak. Our Radio buys include commercial advertising, web banner ads on the station site, Facebook contest and posts, on air give a ways, Live Radio Remotes on site, special promotions and PR Opportunities.
Our Print Advertising Partnership is with the Gazette. Additional buys will include The Independent, The Colorado Springs Business Journal and The Colorado Springs Military Papers. Our Print buys include paper print advertising, web banner ads on their site, Special Print products such as a paper wrap and maps.
Additional Advertising and Social Interaction will include TV Commercials during the 30 minute program 'Hot On! Homes', Movie Theater advertising, Social media to include Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Houzz, YouTube, Instagram, HBA Consumer Email Blasts
Included into the Parade contract this year is the Parade app. It will include not only iPad and iphone, but also Android and Kindle tablet. (sorry, no android phones this year.) The App will feature an interactive map & directions and have a reformatted layout and interactive content.
